In this hands-on workshop, Hsin-Chuen will be showing us how to use some of his handmade, patented pottery tools! Hsin will demo how to use the Tombo sticks to achieve consistent size and thickness when throwing repetitive forms. He will also give a demonstration on how to use his line of trimming tools for both trimming and chattering. Participants will have the opportunity to practice trimming and chattering during the workshop. Participants will also be able to utilize open studio for the remainder of the day to finish their pieces. Firing is not included in the workshop, but if students would like to fire their work. there will be an additional firing fee depending on the size and number of pieces. Level: Participants must have taken a minimum of one Intro to the Wheel course at any studio. Note: Participants are to bring in their own leather hard, wheel thrown work if they would like to practice trimming and chattering during the workshop. Please note that throwing on the wheel will not be a part of the hands-on workshop. Tools: There will be Hsin-Chuen Lin tools available to use during the workshop. Participants will receive 15% off the Hsin-Chuen Lin line of tools on the day of the workshop at the Merritt Shop if they wish to purchase their own specialty tool. You can check out his tools
